Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Mansfield Orthopedics

Physician assistant shall work in collaboration with the practicing physicians and provide health care for patients. This care includes history taking, physical exams, diagnoses, prescribing of medications, treatment plans and the appropriate use of ancillary services. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Notifies direct supervisor of infractions of policy, procedure, laws and regulations as they are identified. Notifies supervisor manager of same issue if supervisor does not correct or resolve issue within a reasonable time frame. Notifies Corporate Compliance Officer of any issues that continue to be unresolved.
  • Will develop a professional relationship and support all staff in order to enhance patient care and efficient clinical operations, acting as a role model for nursing support staff. Shall abide by the policies and procedures of the practice, the Copley Health Systems Physician Practices and the Copley Health Systems Hospital.
  • Employees are hired specifically for their ability or expertise required to perform this highly specialized function.

  • The function was performed by past employees and is now performed by current employees.
  • Will arrange physician referrals when appropriate, coordinating care with appropriate support agencies.
  • Will attend staff meetings and be responsible for his/her ongoing education pertinent to the practice. This will include attending conferences, reading current publications and actively seeking guidance and education from other sources.
  • Will be actively involved in creating education materials and promoting educational programs appropriate for the patient population seen in the practice.
  • Will identify patients with extremely complex health problems and consult appropriately with collaborative physicians regarding proposed treatment.

Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Three to five years experience in direct patient care required. One to two years’ experience in expanded nursing role i.e. completing physical exams preferred.
  • Registered Nurse with endorsement as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with prescriptive authority from the Vermont Board of Nursing. The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant should be licensed by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
