Sr Analyst - S&OP (Sales & Operations)
About This Opportunity
Be part of a fast-paced team that optimizes the movement of product through Target’s Global Supply Chain by building operational plans that connect supply chain capabilities to the company’s financial and strategic growth plans. Responsible for supporting existing models and visioning and building new tools to advance Target’s Digital Fulfillment capabilities. Use big data in dynamic models to project future scenarios. Build and execute reports that fuel continuous improvement. Provide thought leadership and use data to influence action and drive the right business decisions.
Data Analysis
· Implement solutions to current and future business problems using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and machine learning techniques and statistics.
· Use simulation and statistical analysis of future possibilities to recommend shifts in supply chain flows to optimize performance and minimize risks.
· Conduct statistical analysis of new initiatives impacting the supply chain network such as Same Day delivery, Drive-Up, and Restock.
· Utilize data science and machine learning to invent and deploy data and statistical analysis, interpretation, reporting, and utilization across multiple business owners such as HQ, DC field teams, Direct to Guest, and Direct to Store business process teams, etc.
· Build root cause analysis reporting to provide specificity/detail in analytical output(s) to drive visibility and deep understanding of the problems/defects/action across core process teams and partners.
Process Improvement
· Develop reporting that drives continuous improvement in accuracy and against key cost and quality measures.
· Coordinate with other technical experts to automate processes and advance tools wherever possible.
· Partner with teams such as Merchandise Planning, Inventory Management, Network Planning, Store Operations, Enterprise Data and Business Intelligence, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations to understand and account for emerging priorities and strategies.
Technical Skills
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
· Proficiency with SQL, R, SAS, Python or similar tools for analyzing relational databases at scale required.
· A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data and statistical analysis.
· Working knowledge of reporting tools (DOMO, Tableau or similar) preferred.
· Working knowledge of supply chain simulation and optimization model building (Llamasoft, ExtendSim, or similar) preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Expectations: 4 year degree or equivalent required; preference for M.S./ M.B.A. in Operations Research, Supply Chain, Math, Statistics, or similar quantitative field.
Job Related Experience: A minimum of 4 years of work experience analyzing data to drive decisions.
Specific Experience: Strong problem solving communication and communication skills required; preference for experience in an advanced S&OP/Integrated Business Planning environment and/or in an advanced Digital Retailing environment.
